# Droids

<mark style="color:purple;">Droids are in-game digital assets.</mark>

Droids will be a free mint in Q2 2024, available only to the most loyal genesis pilots. Droids will be limited and have two main functions:

* Enable [asteroid mining](/litepaper/gameplay/asteroid-mining.md)
* Enhance navigation

## Upgrading Droids

Droids are Level 5 by default. Droids owners can upgrade their droid to improve the following droid statistics:

* Mining efficiency
* Enhance navigation foresight
* Repair Efficiency

## Salvaging Droids

If a player’s droid is destroyed, it can be salvaged at the player’s hangar. The cost to salvage a droid is reliant on the droid's current market value.
